You may be tempted to smooth out the action unfolding before you, to connect the dots and construct a coherent, traditional narrative. However, getting distracted by what occurred when, or if it occurred at all, is missing the point entirely. Burn’s structural arc is neither lucid nor chronological; rather, it is emotional. The sooner you stop trying to make sense of the fragments of kindling and instead focus on the flames that emanate from them, the sooner Burn will envelop you. As the program notes point out, Sackerson specializes in “new works, unconventional spaces, and bold audiences.” They have supplied you with the first two. You owe it to yourself to be part of the third and step into the dreamworld of Burn. ENGULF YOURSELF IN SACKERSON’S BURN (Utah Theatre Bloggers)

"It was a very powerful piece and I felt while watching it as if the skin had been peeled back from my own body and raw nerve endings were being prodded with words and images. It struck me, that it's rare for a "housewife's" inner struggles to be exposed so unflinchingly." ~Stacey Jensen

"It was stunning. Bold. Creative. Complicated. It was a deep exploration into what family means, the concept of self, getting old, reflecting and regretting your past, loving someone even when they don't want you to and so much more. Absolutely amazing." ~ Kelly Cannon

"Sackerson's production of BURN is one of the best new plays I've seen in a long time. Great script, great cast, great direction, great space, great design, great production. Exceptional job from this exceptional team" ~ David Morrison

"Morag Shepherd's script is a beautiful, harrowing fever dream" ~ Mark Fossen
